Asian Foodways_Grape

In the summer of 2015, an accidental encounter with a cab driver in Ningbo, China brought me and my research assistants to visit 3000 acres of grape farms in the Hangzhou Bay area. Around 200 households share the tenure of the land and collaborate to harvest and transport their product to Shijiazhuang at Beijing metropolitan. Grape farmers also share the cold chain logistics with seafood industry in that area to minimize transportation costs.
