Asian Food Summer School 2017 at IIAS

In 2017, I had the exceptional experience of being selected by The International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) based at Leiden University, Netherlands, to participate in its Asian Food Summer School among talent food scholars in the world. Leiden University in the Netherlands enjoys a world-wide reputation for its expertise on Asia and its many Asian collections, which recently have been brought together in the newly built central ‘Asian Library’. To coincide with its official opening in September 2017, the LeidenAsiaCentre and the Shared Taste Project at Leiden University, together with the IIAS jointly organized a Summer School devoted to the academic study of Asian food.
